He treats chronic throat symptoms, voice and swallowing disorders, sleep-disordered breathing and complex head and neck conditions. Internationally trained in the United Kingdom, he worked at leading ENT centres in London and Edinburgh and holds surgical and visiting rights at all private hospitals in Singapore.
Our throat clinic in Singapore provides structured care for throat-related conditions, from diagnostic assessment to treatment planning. Patients are managed based on clinical findings, individual needs and evidence-based practice.
Dr Lau Chee Chong has clinical experience across both public and private healthcare settings in Singapore and the UK. His work follows established international medical standards and ethical practice. He has also served on professional panels, including the Subordinate Courts’ Medical Expert Panel, contributing clinical expertise where independent medical input is required.
The throat includes several interconnected structures, such as the pharynx, larynx (voice box) and upper oesophagus. Dr Lau manages a range of throat conditions, including chronic cough, voice disorders and swallowing difficulties. Diagnostic investigations and surgical treatment are offered where clinically indicated.
We offer personalised treatment plans based on the patient’s clinical needs and response to treatment. Management may include medication, voice or swallowing therapy, or surgery when indicated. Diagnostic procedures, such as narrow band imaging (NBI) video rhinolaryngoscopy, can be performed in the clinic to support accurate assessment and early identification of potential concerns.
In addition to adult patients, Dr Lau also manages paediatric ENT conditions. Care is adapted to suit the physiological and comfort needs of children, allowing families to seek assessment and treatment within the same clinical setting.
Many symptoms involving the throat may share similar presentations. A detailed evaluation helps to determine the underlying cause and appropriate treatment.

You should consult a throat specialist if symptoms such as sore throat, hoarseness or voice changes persist for more than two weeks, recur frequently, or are associated with swallowing difficulty, breathing issues or neck lumps. Early specialist assessment helps identify underlying causes and guide appropriate treatment.
Services typically include comprehensive throat examinations, flexible laryngoscopy, advanced diagnostic procedures such as narrow band imaging (NBI) video rhinolaryngoscopy, sleep studies for airway-related conditions, and personalised treatment plans. Management may involve medication, voice therapy, procedural treatment or surgery, depending on clinical findings.
